Hi Judy, my name is Jim Joyce and I am the swim parent who writes the articles for the Northgate-Avonworth Swim & Dive team. I am from Emsworth. I know you did a truly great podcast on the team in 2019 but there’s been a lot of big things going on with swimming here recently, especially this season. Our boys team won the Boys WPIAL Championship three weeks ago. This was our first boys WPIAL championship since 2018. Senior Sam Cavanaugh, an Academic All-American, won four golds at WPIALS and, just last weekend, won two golds at the PIAA AA State championship. Sam will be swimming in the Fall with Bucknell University. Also, sophomore Grey McKelvey, took home three medals. Under Sean's coaching, the Stingrays have won 11 straight titles of the WCPSL (West Central Pa Swim League). Sean lives in Bellevue. We'll compete for another tomorrow at IUP. Here are a couple of recent articles that ran on both schools' websites....
